Ironically, in conflict-ridden Kashmir the right of a dog to life is safeguarded legally more than a human being.
Two separate laws in vogue in Kashmir, the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Municipal Corporation Act 2000 regarding Regulation of Animal Birth (Dogs), throw up a disturbing fact about rights of humans and dogs in the conflict zone.
For example, according to the AFSPA, any Indian army officer to maintain public order can fire upon and use force, even to the causing of death, against any person who he feels is acting in contravention of any law, including prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons.

A chilly winter morning turned out to be a wonderful day. It was snow all over and one of my oldest friend was at my door, knocking with one hand and holding kanger in other. He had recently purchased new i20 car. I loved his new car and we directly headed to Gulmarg.
Gulmarg was at its best, looking like a bride in all white. We stayed there for a night and next day went for snow skiing. There were many tourists around, met some from Sweden and they were very happy to visit Gulmarg.
We are again planning a weeklong trip by the end of this month or early next month. Eagerly waiting for the day as our other friends will also be joining.

Disturbed is the right word for Indian army and all its political brass be it in New Delhi or here in Srinagar. First, chief of army in Kashmir justifies its Disturbed Act as holy and then Indian PM talks about zero tolerance. Zero tolerance applies to anyone with even an iota of difference with Indian policies in Kashmir.

There is not doubt that India is going to be a future superpower, but as long as India is going to take blot of "Kashmir" with it is not going to happen. It is not understood that why India is delaying the resolution of Kashmir because by doing so India is blocking its way to emerge as an international power.
Hahaha well I just remembered that I have a profile at this lovely page names Kashland. I haven't signed on here in like forever. And I thought it's about time to change that =)
So to give you lot a little update on me. I haven't been up to much other than just working and skipping classes. I'm just saving up and have decided to pursue my passion of marketing instead of medicine and move to Bergen instead of Prague =) I am really happy about moving and just can't wait until I get away.
Kashmir ,the issue standing between India and Pakistan since 1947 has not been solved since then .The future of Kashmiri people is hanging since 63 yers .Many resolutions passed in UN , but nothing came through. There have been couple of wars between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue . thousands of people lostb there lives since 1990 due to militantcy
Every day we hear that someone somewhere is killed in a very callous manner as if there is no value for human life any more. Protest is a right admitted by the constitution and exercised by millions of people in any civilized or "uncivilized “country around the world.
Opening of a temple at Hawal is an eye opener for all the people that propagate against secular and tolerant culture of Kashmir.
People like Thackrey and RSS should know that it was the Muslim neighbourhood that approached Pandit community for reopening of the temple, consider this, there are no Hindus living around that area.
Mandir/Masjid was never an issue in Kashmir neither was any other except that people wanted to get rid of politicians that were hell bent on creating the drift between the communities.
On record many of our Pandit leaders have accepted that it was because of Governor Jagmohan that they had to leave Kashmir. I wish the days come back soon when we all live in peace and harmony like I hear from my father
All my life around this time every year gun wielding ass-saving saviours of India can be seen on every nook and corner of any street of Kashmir. Stopping, checking, bashing, barking, humiliating etc etc any and everyone that dares to come out of their homes be it for their office, business or any emergency.
